Eddie and I were friends even before elementary school. Our parents were friends and we were together for any number of farm events. Shortly before his death he asked me to cut his hair. We made an afternoon of it. He picked me up on his motorcycle and we rode for a good while. We ended at "Debbie's beauty shop" somewhere in Glen Helen. I remember melting the bottom of my desert boots on the exhaust pipe that day. I still have the marble piece that he gave me for a wedding present. I will never get rid of that gift, nor forget him.

Our class President, Eddie Howe was a great person and a great friend. Eddie and I grew close afer he came back from serving in Viet Nam and moved to Yellow Springs. I was attending Central State at the time and we would hang out some amount of time every day. When I graduated, Eddie needed a car and I took a job in Michigan that came with a company car...so I sold Eddie my 73 Ford Pinto...that was fire-engine red. The Pinto was a terrible car, but did serve both Eddie and I well.

After all of these years, I still think about Eddie. Just felt like posting a little story about some of our time together.
