Martin Stromberg, 70, of Yellow Springs, OH, passed away peacefully Monday, September 11, 2023, in Dayton, OH. He was born April 17, 1953, to the late Fredrick and Marie (Wood) Stomberg in Broadstairs, England.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Nancy (PH-75) (Perry) Bussey, Marie (FHS-83) Gay, and a brother, Paul (Tonya) Stomberg; nephews and nieces; John (Hannah) Purdin, Brenda Purdin, Bryan (Nicole) Gay, and Emily Gay; grandnieces, Sophia, Clara, and Alice.
After serving 4 years in the Army, Martin lived in Fairborn before moving to Dayton, OH, where he was employed as a bartender in the Oregon District. Later he traveled to Winter Park, FL, and worked for Walt Disney Resorts and the Marriott Hotels as a banquet server. Eventually, Martin relocated to Yellow Springs, OH, and ended his employment career as an over-the-road semi-truck driver for Home Run, Inc.
During retirement Martin enjoyed eating breakfast at the Sunrise Cafe followed by coffee at Dino’s Cappuccinos in Yellow Springs, OH.
An avid runner, Martin once ran in the New York Marathon, as well as running in many triathlons in the Orlando, FL, area. In his free time, Martin enjoyed playing pool, riding his motorcycle, and watching sports.
