If you are new to the website please read this page as it will answer many of your questions on how to get a password, make a profile and how to use the website.

This website was created for the sole purpose of keeping our class updated on each other and upcoming events! This site will improve over time and as more of YOU take an active part to sign up and give your input about the site and on future events.

It is completely free. You will never be asked to pay to make a profile or to be able to access other alumni profiles.

You have the option of password protecting your personal profile which blocks the general public and search engines from accessing your profile details. Once you create a profile, you will also be able to see the profiles of your fellow classmates and interact with them.

All contact information that you enter into this website will be kept confidential. It will NOT be shared by 3rd parties or distributed for solicitation. Your contact information is private: your address and phone number can't be seen by the classmates unless you grant permission on your profile.

When someone clicks on your name, all they will see of your contact information is your city and state and whatever information about yourself you choose to put on your web page. Your email address is not viewable, though an email can be sent to you using the contact box at the bottom of your web page. However, if you send a message to someone through their profile, they will see your email address so that they can respond.

You will need to make your individual profile in order to access any password protected pages on the site. Start by clicking on the "Classmate Profiles" link. This will take you to a page with all your classmate names, including yours. Find your name and click on it. Follow the prompts to create your profile. The password that you enter during this process will be used as your login password. You can personalize your page with information such as what have you been up to since graduation in '70, school memories, your family, and photos.

If you click "Remember Me" when you log in, you will not need to log in next time you go to the site. Note there is a password retrieval feature to click on: "Forgot Password?" in case you need to log in sometime and can't remember your password; the password will be sent to you email inbox. You can login from computers other than your home computer but you will need to enter your password.

If you cannot find your name on the "Classmate Profile" page, please contact us to have your name added.

More Instructions:

How to upload pictures to your web page:
1. Be sure you are logged in on the home page. In the links on the left side under MEMBER FUNCTIONS, click on the link: Edit/Upload Photos.
2. The Photo page will appear and you’ll see a gray box titled: Upload New photo. Click on this box and you will be at the Add Photo page.
3. The Add Photo page gives basic instructions for uploading your photos. There are 3 places on this page to make entries.
Sort: The sort number controls the order in which photos display on your page. By default your pictures will appear in the order you entered them, so this isn’t important for your first picture. But later if you want picture #5 to appear as #1, you will have to change the sort numbers on your pictures. If you delete a picture, the sort numbers for the remaining pictures do not change (e.g., if you delete picture #2 out of 4 pictures, you will show pictures #1, 3, and 4.)
Caption: Caption is the description you write for your picture.

Browse: This is the most important one, for this is how you find the picture on your computer and get it to appear on your page.
4. Your first picture will automatically be Sort Number 1.
5. Now click the Browse button. A list of folders on your computer will show up. Locate the folder that holds your picture. For most classmates this will be the My Pictures folder located in the My Documents folder. When you have clicked through to your picture file, click the view button at the top to show icons as pictures. This makes it easier to find the specific picture you want to upload.
6. Select the picture you want to upload by clicking on it once, and then click Open at the bottom of the box.
7. Now you will be taken back to the Add Photo page and in the Upload Photo box you will see the path to your picture.
8. Enter the Caption for your picture in the box.
9. Click the SAVE CHANGES button.
Now go to your Profile page and look for your picture and caption.

If you change your email address, snail mail address, or phone number, please update those in your profile so when we download a hard copy we will have your correct information.

Always check back with the Home page, where main information and announcements are made.

Enjoy and have fun- this is YOUR website and will only be as good as you decide it will be, so spread the word!!
If you know how to contact anyone that has not filled out a profile please contact them and give them the website. We need to try to get as many as possible to sign up if we want our future events to be successful. If you know their email you can just enter it and an invitation to the site will be sent.

Thanks Denise, for putting so much time and effort into this and doing such a wonderful job. We've been talking every day on AOL through IM's, on Facebook,on the phone and face to face by going to lunch, but NOW I'm thanking you again on here!
I'm so glad you got that HP Pavillion now, and don't have to worry about losing what you've worked so hard on. Remember I have that "computer guy" if you need him.
Now...I just have to work on getting those embarrassing 8x10's off my profile page - ha ha! I changed it but the change did not take, so I'll try something else.

Thank you, so much Nancy, for writing about the much needed contributions to Denise for spending her own money for that laptop! I'm so glad you did that. I agree....it would be great if a lot of small contributions could help pay for it.

Some of you may have noticed that I gave Ted Stahl from the Class of 1970 "guest privileges" and he has done the same for me. I simply could not have done all of this without his help!! And I have every intention of "paying forward" whether it be the Class of 72, or any other class that wants to use this product. Thank you Ted!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denise, I really appreciate what you did with our class's website! I understand, too, that you had to purchase a new computer in order to accomplish this. This website
is invaluable and really, priceless. Can we send donations in to help defray your costs?

Denise Kline Derge

Virginia,

I have received a few donations but have not reached my goal of having classmates help with 1/2 of it and I will pay for 1/2 of it. Originally I thought I would keep the notebooks separate but that really seems silly. I have one folder than someone could take off for Jerry (he doesn't know how to) in the event that something happened to me and someone else in the class could take this over and take the computer. Any help is greatly appreciated! Small amounts do add up. This did happen suddenly and I had no time to save up.

Hope you are enjoying the site. This week I came into the possession (borrowing of course) of FLYER newspapers so we'll see how they scan. Also hope to get our senior choir albums this week. Thanks publicly to Gary Deer for turning those into digital for me. The older albums I "borrowed" from Ted's class of 1970 site. He borrowed my "Fairborn Today" photo album. We don't believe in reinventing the wheel! Thanks. DKD

Brava Denise! Like everyone else, I really appreciate the effort you put into this. The check is in the mail!

I do thank everyone who sent donations. It was enough to pay for half the computer which is what I really wanted. I will be using it too for personal use, but also doing a lot of work for the upcoming reunion in 2011 and we can keep everything in one place.

For what it's worth, from my perspective, amazing things are happening as a result of this web site. These are the things others don't see. I hear about people talking to people they have not heard from in decades. I personally have talked to some people I wasn't even sure if they were alive!! And one thing seems to lead to another. It's fascinating to watch.

That's YOUR part. Call your friends or get in touch with them via email. That's how we grow this. I am very happy with the first seven weeks of this web site. I look forward to trying some new things (maybe failing!) in the New Year and seeing what we can do with this site! DKD

My dear friends:

A conversation with my husband and an article recently on AOL precipitated me writing to the classcreator.com “help” person, who has been a lot of help to me! The issue is the one of Facebook chat being available to employees at Facebook and how private chat is on Facebook. So I asked “Kyle” what the situation is with this issue regarding classcreator.com because I do want people to use the Live Chat feature!

Having said that, I also want our people to be informed. I will as admin have the ability (when I figure this out of course) to go in and copy chat records—the idea being that we could have “meetings” and email the chat record to others who were not able to “attend” the meeting. This is a good thing.

BUT, as I know people in general, other chats may be more personal, “remember when?” types of things and I just want people aware that I will have some access to that. Hopefully all of you know I am not a snoop, but I can run across things in my other tasks and also I hope that everyone knows that I respect the highest level of confidentiality should I run across something that is personal. In other words, I am treating you as I would want to be treated in this manner.

Just be educated and aware, and also please know that I take your trust in me with the utmost of importance. Anything I see on chat will NEVER be repeated! I know I have already had one fairly intense chat session with one person, don’t remember all I said, but I know how I would feel if it were made public! Rest assured that I for the most part have trained myself not to look (I guess all those years in banking when I just “ignored” bank balances of people I knew). Sincerely, DKD

Thanks Bob. I appreciate that. I wanted to post an announcement and I hope people check this. I wonder if anyone has a copy of something that was published re: our Senior Superlatives. It's not in the yearbook and not in the copies of the newsletters that I have, but there must have been something somewhere! I do know that I was not superlative at anything (maybe that's because I was so "well-rounded" ha ha!) but it would be nice to see who was! Anyone? HELP! DKD

One score and nineteen years ago Fairborn High School brought forth on this continent, a new graduating class, conceived in the 50s, and dedicated to the proposition that all Fairbornites are created special.

Now we are engaged in planning a great class reunion, testing whether that class, or any friendships so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
