The news of Gene’s passing has hit me and my family hard. We grew up together in Alaska at Elmendorf AFB before we moved to Fairborn. Gene and his family where always there for us after my father was killed on active duty. Gene – or “Buddy” as we always affectionately called him – was the ‘Big Brother’ I never had. Although he was born with only one kidney that left him out of sports in High School and prevented him from joining the military, he more than made up for it with his musical talent as a keyboardist for the “Toads” and playing the drums in the high school band. Our paths crossed many times in life most recently in Dallas, Texas where he was the Systems Engineering Team Manager for Bank of America. I am honored to have known him. Rest-in-Peace Buddy – you will be sorely missed more than you may know....

Gene Brennan was a very humble, gentle guy. I got to know him better our senior year in Choraliers. We've lost several Choralier members. Kris Kennedy, Debbie Thompson, Judy Laurents, Bruce Fisher, & now Gene. If there are more that have passed, please let me know. Rest in peace, friends.

So very sorry to hear about Gene, this is quite a shock. Gene was so full of vitality and joy. He kept the marching band bus animated on our way to and from football games, and made our jazz band trips to gigs such a fun adventure. Somewhere on this site Denise has saved a recording of our Symphonic and Stage Band concerts from perhaps 70 or 71, on side two the stage band does "Friek Shrieks", about halfway through there is s keyboard solo that rivals anything heard on the radio these fifty plus years since. That was Gene. Love you man.Jean Reynolds (Burgess)
Sweet, funny, talented Gene! He will be missed by those who knew him. It is so nice to hear memories from our classmates that interacted with him. Thank you for sharing.

I also wanted to also say when I got drafted and went to tech school in Texas he used to pick me up and take me back to his house and show me around Dallas and then took me back to my base. This said news has hit me Hard. I will miss GENE RIP Brother 🙏Michelle Gunkel (Higgins)
