LEAL, Mary Ellen (Varner) passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the age of 61. Mary is lovingly remembered by Laurie L. Beard (daughter), John R. Beard (son), Michael R. Richards (grandson), and Dylan M. Richards (grandson). She was a retired Dayton Police Officer, former Commander of the Greene County Career Center Law Enforcement Academy, and professor at Wright State University. What an absolutely beautiful smile!!! With each leaf that falls from the tree, we realize our own mortality and are reminded that we are not promised tomorrow but only have today. So today I shall hug the ones I love a little bit tighter and hold on a little bit longer. I shall say "I love you" and know that those words will continue on throughout eternity. Our words are powerful. Had Jesus not said, "Lazarus, come forth.", all the dead would have risen. He knows our name and calls us each when it is time to come home. I pray Mary's family will find comfort in knowing that there will come a day when we will have the greatest of all reunions. Even now, she is welcomed and loved. Of this I am sure because I have faith it is so. God's blessing on us all as we remember how much we are loved and cherished.

To each and everyone of the family know that prayer for strength and comfort go forth with a strong voice. I can only echo my sister classmates comments with reference to St Paul's instruction to each of us in I Thessalonians 4;13-18. Now she celebrates in the glorified state at the foot of the throne of the King Of Kings. I have looked forward to next July for a reunion. But if that would not be God's perfect will for me, I too shall be waiting with Mary for you all. May the Lord follow the entire Varner clan with mercy, grace, and comfort, in Jesus name-Amen
