CHESTER E. CHANEY, FHS FLYERS CLASS of 1971

Chester Eugene Chaney, 74, of London, KY, formerly of Ary, KY, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born February 9, 1951, to the late Arthur Chaney and Opal Allen Chaney Jackson, KY. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James Toney Chaney, Sr; brothers-in-law, Edward Zelan and Willie Chafin; and nephew, Chester Chafin. 

He is survived by his wife, Karla (Bellew) Chaney; daughters, Chanda Chaney and Charmoin (Jeffrey) Holliday; grandsons: Austin (Drew) Cumbow, Dillon Napier, and Coby (Kassidi) Cumbow; granddaughter, Kasey Moore; great grandchildren,Archie Wayne Cumbow and Emalynn Tipton; sisters: Helen Zelan, Jackie (Jimmy) Shaver, and Opal Chafin; sister-in-law, Phyllis Chaney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Chester loved and adored his family and spoiled his grandchildren. A proud Vietnam veteran, Chester continued to love and support his countrymen. He served in both the Army and National Guard.

For over 30 years, Chester worked for ARH in many roles and retired as facilities manager. He loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid collector of many things, especially Harley Davidson items. He enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, and wood working.
